Day 21 - Copenhagen

Sorry people I've been lazy. No, actually there is not really much to tell anyway since I have the flu and therefore didn't really do too much.
Day 19 we spent in Uppsala, me mainly in bed... On day 20 we had a train ride pf almost 7 hours from Uppsala to Copenhagen and all I did after finally (yes, it was not that easy to find, especially not if you're sick and have to carry your heavy backpack through half of Copehagen) reaching the hostel was lie down and sleep. Oh no, we had dinner at a café called Café Obelix which was kinda cool. But that was about it...

Now, today we had time to walk around Copenhagen. Since we've both been here before we left out all the sightseeing though. Instead we just did some shopping (which we hadn't for a while) and then had lunch at the Irish Pub called The Irish Rover which has become kind of a tradition.

Funny enough, when I was in Copenhagen for the first time with my boyfriend (it was winter and freezig cold) we happend to end up there by chance. After we had found out they had some really good fish & chips there I recommend it to my friend. So now we were both kinda excited to go :) We didn't drink any beer though, which we did the first time...that was a funny afternnoon ;)
The pub's staff is really friendly too by the way. And if you go during the day you have the pub almost for yourself...
Now it's time to sleep and tomorrow we're flying back home :)

Day 18 - From Stockholm to Uppsala

Have I ever mentioned how lucky we've been with the weather so far?! Even if it was grey in the morning the sun came eventually in the afternoon. Not today though. Also, today is a holiday so no regular bad weather activity called shopping either. So we just walked around town, which is quite beautiful I must say. After the very short post yesterday I thought there were some more pictures needed :)

Days 16 & 17 - Stockholm

We are really enjoying our time here in Stockholm. Yesterday we went to IKEA (yes, that was necessary ;)) and today we went to a Midsommar celebration...although we didn't really dance around the pole and stuff. But we had some rather Swedish food: potato salad, salmon and most importantly sill which is the famous Swedish hering. And I must say with mustard & dill dressing it was not even too bad.
Now we're having a quite night before leaving for Uppsala tomorrow.

Day 16 - From Oslo to Stockholm

There really is no other city I love as much as Stockholm! It was even worth getting up early and spending 6 hours straight in the train ;)
We have a cute apartment here just 10 minutes out of the city, close to the woods.

This afternoon we just walked around a little, so there are no pics to show :)

Day 15 - Oslo

Only one week left...but I must say all the traveling is rather tiring. I mean it's great to see so many different places but I do look forward to just being home for a while as well.
After a long walk this morning we decided to do another tourist activity - a boat tour in the fjord. And it was totally worth it! We saw so many of those cute little summer houses and the beautiful fjord landscape.
This is the amazing opera house. I really love its design!

Since the opera house is supposed to look like an iceberg this would be the tip that broke off:

The last 3 pics are from the boat tour. Aren't those little summer houses not just too cute?!

Day 14 - Oslo

This city is soooo expensive! That's about the first thing we noticed. But we'll have to make the best of it since we're here for 3 nights.

Yesterday after moving into the hostel we walked through town to get a first impression. Now we're sitting in one of those tourist buses you find in every bigger city...and I must say I do like Oslo!
Here are some impressions:

Day 13 - From Gothenburg to Oslo

Here my post from yesterday:

This morning we had breakfast at a café. And instead of the usual kanelbulle we decided for something a bit more...let's say sweet ;) yummy carrot cake with (lots of) cream cheese icing:

Afterwards we felt like we desperately needed to work out :)

A walk in the park later we were ready to board the train to Oslo. I've never been to Norway so I'm really excited about Oslo. It's a shame though that the capital is our only destination in Norway...would have been great to see some more of the country. But this vacation probably won't have been my last one in Scandinavia :)
